LaVern R. Parker, 62, of 500 Sycamore St., died Sunday from injuries received in an auto-pedestrian accident on Broadway Street.

He was born March 12, 1929, in Waterloo, son of Raymond G. and Elsie M. Kramer Parker. He married JoAnn Klenzman in February 1956 in Waterloo and they were divorced. He then married Joyce E. Mulford and they were divorced. Mr. Parker had been employed as a foreman for Leo Rooff Construction.

Survivors include four sons, LaVern P. of Waterloo, Lowell R. and Lee G., both of Coralville, and Michael of Sumner; eight daughters, Lee Ann Blackburn, Lorraine Parker, Laura Cummings, Lynn Johnson, Leisa Thoma, Lana Gage and Leota Schmitz, all of Waterloo, and Laberta Parker of Marshalltown; 21 grandchildren; five brothers, Lyle and Lymon, both of Waterloo, Leon of La Porte City, Larry of Aledo, Ill., and LeRoy of Corpus Christi, Texas; and four sisters, LaDonna Lancaster of Waterloo, Lois Lancaster, Leota Parker and Linda Strunk, all of Aledo

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson and a brother.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery. Friends may call at Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
