CEDAR FALLS - Linda S. Gleissner, 65, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 16, 2014m at Rosewood Estates in Waterloo.

She was born July 18, 1948, in Rochester, N.Y., daughter of Dwight and Freda Huston Lawrence.

She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a master's degree in early childhood development from the University of Northern Iowa. Linda was a special education teacher, worked with EPI, was an instructor at UNI, and later was employed with AEA 267 as a discipline facilitator, training teachers in special education.

Survived by two sons, Daniel Jr. (Mandy) of Reinbeck and Scott (Stephanie) of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Dakota and Daniel III Gleissner, Noah and Benjamin Gleissner; two sisters, Jane Lawrence of Chicago and Mollie (Erica Peitler) Lawrence of Morristown, N.J.; many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with inurnment at a later date in Pennsylvania. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
