CEDAR FALLS - David Leroy Carlson, 64, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 11, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Cedar Falls, son of Ruby and Jean Miller Carlson.

David was a 1969 graduate of Cedar Falls High School. He was a custodian at the high school and later trained in restaurant/motel management. He was a chef at Holiday Inn, Cedar Rapids, and at the Cedar Falls Happy Chef Restaurant. He owned and operated “Sweethearts Corner” in Shell Rock for several years and retired from John Deere custodial services.

Survived by two brothers, Alan (Shiela) of Waterloo and Shawn of Cedar Falls; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Emily Carlson; and a niece, Analeigh Carlson.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in rural Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
