WATERLOO - Donald P. Harris, 80, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born May 28, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Edgar and Wynona Sheehan Harris. He married Lois J. Fagan on July 25, 1953, in Monticello. She died Nov. 6, 2005.

He graduated from St. Mary's High School and was employed as a welder with Titus Manufacturing and retired from John Deere. After retirement he worked for Pinkerton Security as a guard at the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by a son, Dan (Carla) of Warner Robins, Ga.; three daughters, Connie (Sam) Shimp of Norwalk, Paula (Leroy) Anderson of Waterloo and Angie (Scott) Rodberg of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Kevin; and a sister, Patricia Majewski.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
