Services for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Warnock of Chico, Calif., and formerly of Waterloo, will be Monday at Hall-Van Hook Funeral Home in Chico

Mr. Warnock, 74, and Mrs. Warnock 67, were fatally injured Tuesday in a head-on car collision near Durham Calif.

He was born April 11, 1907, in Northern Ireland, son of William and Anna Warnock. She was born July 14, 1913, in Waterloo, daughter of George E. and Emma M. Cunningham. They married June 3, 1936, in Waterloo.

They worked for many years at Black's Department Store, before moving to California in 1943 to raise almonds.

They are survived by her brother Ray Cunningham of Algona; her three sisters, Edith Watkins of Arlington Heights, Ill., Dortha Iversen of 403 Easton Ave. and Ariene Spurgeon of Des Moines; his sister, Elsie Kidd of Durham, Calif.; and his brother William Warnock of Ireland.

Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Crippled Children Fund in care of the funeral home.

Robert Warnock – Joint services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church for Robert James Warnock, 74, and his wife, Helen Sophia Warnock, 67, of Durham. They died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Tuesday. Mrs. Warnock died Tuesday and Warnock died Friday.

He was born April 11, 1907, in Ireland to Anna and William Warnock. He came to the United States in 1928 and settled in Waterloo, Iowa, where he met and married his wife on June 3, 1936. They came to Durham in 1943 and were involved in almond ranching.

He was a member of the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as elder, the Chico Masonic Lodge No.1 11, Legion of Honor for the DeMolay, Josephine Chapter no. 104, Order of Eastern Star; Chico High Twelve and Durham Grange where he served as past master. He is survived by a brother, William of Ireland, and a sister, Elsie Kidd of Durham.

Casket bearers will be members of the Chico Masonic Lodge No. 111 and they will include Howard Slater, Don Slater, William Carter, Robert Wahl, Edwin Ryon and Harvey Arbuckle. Burial will be in the Masonic Section at the Chico Cemetery under the direction of the Chico Masonic Lodge No.111. Mel Sharpe will serve as master and Bill Caven as chaplain. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.
