Services for Miriam E. Smith, 78, of 1011 Burton Ave., will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Chapel Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. She died Friday at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born Oct. 20, 1902 at New Hartford, the daughter of Almon H. and- Frankie Williams Fifield. She married Harold L. Smith June 7, 1922, in Waterloo. She formerly taught in rural schools in Grundy County.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Harold L. Smith, Jr. of Washburn. five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Forrest Fifield of Waverly.

Friends may call at Kearns- Pykeman chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
