WATERLOO - Ruby H. Hanson, 70, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 28, 1935 in Waterloo, daughter of John and Dora Timmerman Piehl. She married Maurice R. Hanson on Aug. 21, 1955, in Waterloo. He died Jan. 24, 2001.

Mrs. Hanson graduated from Waterloo East High School. She was employed with the Waterloo Community Schools in food service.

Survivors include two daughters, Valerie Hanson and Vicki (Tom) Bentley, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Milton Piehl.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Audubon Society and Valley Lutheran High School.
