WATERLOO - Fern A. Long, 86, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Mason City, daughter of Howard W. and Clara M. Peterson Reynolds. She married Walter Keneston and they later divorced. On Oct. 14, 1954, she married Kinn C. Long. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Long trained horses.

Survivors include a son, Milton Long of Spokane, Wash.; a daughter, Donna (Robert) Taylor of Spokane; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and two half sisters, Lucille and Betty, both of South Dakota.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Carl and Robert Johnston and Arnold and Clifford Reynolds; and three sisters, June Brown, Phyllis Stevenson and Violet Johnston.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
