LA PORTE CITY - Keith K. Kullmer, 98, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Dysart, son of Albert and Flora Powelson Kullmer. He married Mildred M. Weaver on Jan. 19, 1931, in Toledo. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2007.

Mr. Kullmer started farming in Traer. He managed Evergreen Hatchery and retired from Kraft Foods Feed Division as a salesman. He was past mayor of La Porte City, served on the La Porte City School Board, Black Hawk County Waste Management and Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging.

Survived by two sons, Keith K. (Grace) of Jesup and James P. (Gretchen) of La Porte City; two grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by two grandsons, Dave and Kris Kullmer; and two brothers, Robert and Leo in infancy.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with internment later in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the church. La Porte City Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
