CEDAR FALLS - Lavern "Wally" Wallace, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 28, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born July 3, 1918, in Waterloo, son of George Ernest and Hazel Mary Kern Wallace. He owned and operated Wallace Jewelry Store, worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 10 years, then owned and operated Wallace Hearing Aids, retiring in the 1990s.

Survived by a son, Wally of Pahrump, Nev.; a sister, Dorothy L. (Vern H.) Gaede of Waterloo; special friend, Alma Caloud of Clutier; and two nephews, Dennis L. (Marilyn K.) Gaede of Cedar Falls and Larry D. (Patty S.) Gaede of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two infant twin brothers.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
