Fred L. Holgate, 66, of 600 Alpine Drive, died Saturday at 10 p.m. at his home of a heart attack.

Private services will be Tuesday. Scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. C. J. Raker of St. Edward's Catholic Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Holgate was born Nov. 9, 1906, in Monmouth, Ill., to John and Molly McNamara Holgate.

He was a resident of Waterloo since 1937. For 22 years he was employed by the Rath Packing Company, retiring five years ago.

Mr. Holgate married Elsie Jarrett June 6, 1939, in Waterloo. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Terry of Lincoln, Neb., and David of 154 W. 4th St.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Thomasson of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
