Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton for Calvin Schadt, 49, former resident of Waterloo and Evansdale, who died of a heart attack unexpectedly at 3 a.m. Saturday in Brighton.

The Rev. Wayne Griffith, a brother-in-law of Ekalaka, Mont, will officiate. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, Mr. Schadt, a veteran of World War II, operated the locker plant at Brighton.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in Independence, the son of Oscar and Edith Trego Schadt. He married Lucile McKinney on Nov. 27, 1942. Mr. Schadt was employed at the Rath Packing Co., following their marriage and again after he returned from the armed service. He was a member of the Burton Avenue Baptist Church.

They later moved to Davenport, where he was employed as a meat inspector at the Oscar Mayer packing Co., and in September they moved to Brighton, where he purchased the locker plant.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Staff Sgt. Raymond Schadt of the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas; Roger Schadt of Peru, Ill., Sgt. Rodney Schadt of the U. S. Army, Fort Rucker, Alabama; four grandchildren, his mother, Mrs Edith Schadt of 835 Knoll Ave.; two sisters, Mrs. Glenola Bunting of Jesup; and Mrs. Luella Griffith of Ekalaka, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his father, two daughters and a sister.
