Services for Mathias Thome, 73, of Raymond, will be at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, Raymond. Rev. Paul Grace will officiate. Mr. Thome died at St. Francis Hospital here Wednesday afternoon of a respiratory ailment.

Rosary services by the Holy Name Society will be said at the Oppold Funeral Home Thursday at 8 p. m. and Friday at 3 p. m. The parish will say a rosary Friday at 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Born March 6, 1893, in Black Hawk County the son of George and Margaret Weber Thome, he married Mary Weiden in 1919. After her death in 1921, he married Grace Monahan in 1922. She died in 1939.

A veteran of World War I where he served in France, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond, the Holy Name Society and the order of the Eagles.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene and Irving, both of Raymond; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Fagerlind Jr., Raymond, and Mrs. Don Simon, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ranes, Belvedere, Ill., and Mrs. Catherine Ullrich, Rockford, Ill.; and 26 grandchildren.
