WATERLOO - Leona Pearl Beckner, 91, of Harlington, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, April 20, 2005 after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 2, 1913, in Shelbyville, Wis., daughter of Frank and Effie Halsey. She married Francis Fisk, and he preceded her in death. She later married Ray Hemm, and he preceded her in death. She married Robert Beckner, and he preceded her in death.

Ms. Beckner worked for many years in the butchering department at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo.

Survivors include a son, Paul Fisk of Harlington; two stepsons, Michael (Debra) Beckner of Sumner and Patrick (Mariko) Beckner of Murrieta, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Marcia (Anthony) Jones of Omaha, Neb., and Nancy (Doug) Dane of Belton, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sons, Joy Fisk and Larry Fisk.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Community of Christ Church, Oelwein, with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, south of Oelwein. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed in her name to Community of Christ Church in Oelwein or the American Heart Association.
