Roger Lee Arends, 60, of Dike, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Country View Care Facility, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 20, 1945, in Cedar Falls, son of Edward and Angeline Smiens Arends. He married Sharon Folkerts, and they later divorced.

Mr. Arends served in the U.S. Navy and had been employed as a semi driver for many years.

Survivors include his mother of Dike; a brother, Norman of Parkersburg; and a sister, Lynda Walterman of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dike United Methodist Church, with burial in Stout Cemetery, Stout. There will be no visitation. Dike Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
