Alvin Joseph Weber, 82, of Cresco, died at home Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Gilbertville, son of Joseph G. and Gertude Schares Weber. On Nov. 29, 1944, he married Nettie Viola Perry at St. John's Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Mr. Weber farmed most of his life in Gilbertville, Jesup, Raymond, Chester and Cresco. He then drove the Northeast Iowa Community Action van around Cresco for 20 years.

Survivors include four sons, Larry (Deb) of La Porte City, Jerry and Allan, both of Cresco, and Randy (Barbara) of LeRoy, Minn.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Weber of Jesup and Ida Delagardelle of Waterloo; and two brothers, Irvin (Rita) and Anthony (LaDean), both of Gilbertville.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Cletus Weber.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Conway Funeral Home, Cresco, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
