Mr. and Mrs. Charles Felslng, 128 Alta Vista Avenue, are in Clear Lake, where they attended the funeral at 1:30 p.m. of James J. Wellman, Mrs. Felsing's brother.

Mr. Wellman, who was about 65, died at 11:45 Wednesday after a long illness. He resided in Waterloo until about 18 years ago, when he removed to Mason City, where he continued to travel for John Mehlhop & Sons, Dubuque, tobacconists, the firm for which he worked while in this city. He later entered the real estate business at Clear Lake, and during the last two or three years has been proprietor of a bathhouse there.

His home here was at Sixth and Franklin Streets,

CLEAR LAKE, March 23 Funeral services for James J. Wellman, 66 years old, who died at his home at midnight Wednesday after a lingering illness, were held at William's Funeral Home at 1:30 o'clock today. The Rev, W. B. Milne pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated. Members of the Knights of Pythias lodge, of which Mr. Wellman was a member, and Pythian Sisters, attended In a body.

Mr. Wellman was a prominent summer resident of the resort city, having owned and managed Wellman's Bathhouse, north shore, for 16 years. He spent the winter months with his wife in various points in California.

Mr. Wellman's health began to fail more than a year ago and during the early summer months he submitted to two major operations. His sickness was found to be incurable and he returned to his home here and had been confined to his bed since October.

James J. Wellman was born at Erie, Pa., March 9, 1863 and moved to Clear Lake 17 years ago. He formerly had resided at Waterloo. He was married to Miss Mollie Jefford of New Hampton, Feb. 17, 1890. Mr. Wellman was prominent in work of the Elk's lodge and also was affiliated with the Knights of Pythias and Modern Woodman orders.

His wife and five sisters: Mrs. Ada Wescott, Hampton; Mrs. Minnie Grein, Mrs. W. H, Russ and Mrs. H. E. Soule, Minneapolis and Mrs. Roy Niles, Albert Lea, survive.

Burial was made in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
