CEDAR FALLS -- Anita Wilcox, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Fayette County, daughter of Mike and Anita Ramirez Caballero. She married Carl C. Wilcox Jr. on Nov. 14, 1954, in Dubuque; he died Nov. 4, 1989.

Anita attended high school in Oelwein and graduated from Gates Business College, Waterloo. She was a teacher’s associate for many years at River Hills School until her retirement. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Survived by two sons, Clayton (Julie) Wilcox of Hagerstown, Md., and Christopher (Kandice) Wilcox of Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Catherine Wood of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Tanner, Morgann, Courteney, Clayton, Carter and Carmen; three brothers, Michael (Judy) Caballero of Cedar Falls, Braulic Caballero of Fayette and Rupert (Martha) Caballero of Waukon; and a sister, Angie Alverez of Chicago.

Preceded in death by her parents; an infant granddaughter, Hannah Wilcox; two sisters, Esther Maynard and Ann Caballero; a sister-in-law, Pat Caballero; and a brother-in-law, Rosendo Alverez.

Services: 10 a. m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, with a 3:30 p.m. rosary and a 6:30 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.
