Dr. James E. Smith

Services for Dr. James E. Smith, 27, of West Des Moines, formerly of Waterloo, will be. Tuesday at 7 p.m; at McLaren's Funeral Home in Des Moines with further services Friday afternoon at Kearris-Dykeman Chapel.

Dr. Smith was electrocuted Saturday morning when a hair dryer fell into the bathtub.

Friends may call at Keams-Dykeman Chapel after 5 p.m. Thursday,

He was born in Waukesha, Wis , Oct. 28, 1949, the son of H. James and Carol Harsh Smith. He attended Simpson College and received his M.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He was in his second year residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in family practice.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Condit of 1061 Riehl St.; his father of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, William of 1061 Riehl St., and a sister, Lorrie Smith of 235½ Western Ave.
