WATERLOO - Syble Porter, 62, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born May 23, 1943, in Watervalley, Miss., daughter of Thomas Emerson Cooper I and Mary Elnora Van Winkle. She married William F. Coon Nov. 1, 1961. He preceded her in death June 7, 2004.

She worked as a nurse's aide and a medical aide at Parkview Garden and Country View nursing facilities. She was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survived by her mother, Mary Cooper of Waterloo; a son, Bill (Tracy) Coon of Evansdale; three daughters, Angie Burnell (special friend Tony Necas) of Waterloo, and Mary (Larry) Neisen and Sara Smith (fiance Tallian Bradford), both of Evansdale; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Tom Cooper II of Waterloo and Tim Cooper of Warrenville, Ill.; and a sister, Edna Marshall of Washburn.

Preceded in death by her father; a sister, Gwen Baker; and twin granddaughters.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
