WATERLOO - Milka Hauser, 93, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Denver Sunset Home, Denver.

She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Paulin Klostar, Croatia, daughter of Stephan and Marca Derveni Vlasicek. She married John Hauser on Nov. 19, 1947, in Bjelovar, Croatia; he died April 27, 2012.

Milka worked as a cook and baker at Allen Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by three daughters, Kathy (Leonard) Bottema of Austin, Minn., Nada (Mike) Franklin of Waterloo and Marca Habdija of Gornje Plavnice, Croatia; five grandchildren, Christy (Jeff) Blount, Mick (Lori) Franklin, Lora Bottema, Alicia (Doug York) Franklin and Darko Habdija; and three great-grandchildren, Warren VanWie, Nick VanWie and Tanner Trenholm.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, under the auspices of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 5 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church, with casket closed.

Memorials may be directed to the Denver Sunset Home.

Milka is still remembered at Allen Hospital for her cinnamon rolls. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always made sure we would always be well fed.
