WATERLOO -- Ivan "Ike” Griswold, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, Ill.

He was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Laurren and Lulu Schaller Griswold.

Ike was a supervisor at Titus Manufacturing Co. for many years, and then was a supervisor at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1986.

Survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Jeanne (Peter) Lehmann and Donna “Lee” Hauser; 12 grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Lehmann, Wendy Lanahan, Jennifer (Johnny) Patton, Derrick Green, Jessica Lehmann, Peter Lehmann, Tom Griswold, Will Griswold, Steven Griswold, Kristy Griswold, Lora Sue Mejia and Bryan Griswold; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe; and a sister, Loretta Moody.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Craig and Terry; and two sisters, Helen Albright and Margaret “Peg” Griefnow.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, Antioch, Ill., where visitation begins at 10 a.m.

Additional services: noon Monday at Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Chapel, where visitation begins at 10 a.m., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo.

Throughout his life, Ike was always fixing things for anyone and everyone. Lawn mowers, tractors, cars … just about anything. He was a strong man with a gentle soul who will be greatly missed.
