CEDAR FALLS -- Vivian E. Staley, 96, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Kansas City, Kan., died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1917, in St. Joseph, Mo., daughter of Earl and Mildred Hord Brumback. She married William H. Staley on Oct. 26, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan.; he died Nov. 23, 1990.

Vivian was director of volunteers for the Red Cross at Kansas City Medical Center for 20 years, retiring in 1980.

Survived by: two daughters, Dr. Cynthia (Dr. James) Kenyon of Cedar Falls and Dr. Patricia (Wallace) Groda of Anacortes, Wash.; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Brook) Jacobsen of Cedar Falls, Dr. Carolyn (Christopher) Stafford of Clive and John Kenyon of Minneapolis; and four great-great-grandchildren, Anna, Ethan and Emily Jacobsen, and Claire Stafford.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial at 11 a.m. Thursday in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, Ill. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Black Hawk County Chapter of American Red Cross.
