Mrs. George Bovenizer, 73, died at 3 a. m. Sunday at her home, 324 Irving Street. She had been in poor health for approximately five years but had not been seriously ill recently.

She was born May 10, 1866, on a farm near Independence, Ia., and was a daughter of William and Betsy Richmond.

Mrs. Bovenizer was married twice, first to S. E. Hicks at Independence in 1893. The couple moved to Osceola, Ia., where Mr. Hicks died in 1911.

In March, 1926, she was married at Marshalltown, Ia., to George Bovenizer of Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Bovenizer lived for a time in Des Moines, moved then to independence, and finally took up their residence at 324 Irving Street.

Mrs. Bovenizer is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Merrill West of Des. Moines and Miss Betty Beechen of Chicago, a foster daughter; a son, Lyle E. Hicks of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Dean and Miss Alta Richmond of Jesup; and two brothers, Albert Richmond of Monterey, Cal., and W. A. Richmond of Grand Forks, N. D.

Mrs. Bovenizer attended Grace Methodist Church here and was a member of Women's Guild.

The body was taken to the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
