DUNKERTON - Mertie Eva Shimp, 104, formerly of Dunkerton, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at the Western Home Martin Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 5, 1900, in Dunkerton, daughter of William H. and Anna Beehner Shimp.

Ms. Shimp was a homemaker.

Survived by a cousin, Jack (Kathleen) Shimp of Waterloo; and several other cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marjorie Shimp, on March 29, 2005.

Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Barclay Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
