EDWARD PLACE, 42, of 1009 Dawson street, died of coronary thrombosis, a heart ailment, at 6:50 p. m. Wednesday in Allen Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday. He had been ill since Christmas.

Born June 22, 1901, in Chicago, the son of Clinton and Irene Place, he moved with his parents to a farm near Denver, Iowa, and later resided on a farm three miles east of Janesville before moving to Waterloo eight years ago. He was associated with his father in operating Place's wholesale potato market.

Surviving are the widow, the former Geraldine Bowser, Waterloo, whom he married Apr. 18, 1934, at Waverly, and three children, Cyclena, 8, Edward, 6, and James, 7 months. Also surviving are his father, Clinton Place, 108 Jefferson street; and two brothers, Clinton C., 317 Bismarck avenue, and Thomas, Janesville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Saturday in St. Joseph's church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Waverly, Ia. The body is at Kearns Garden chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p. m. Friday.
