MRS. LICHTY DEAD.

Was Resident of Blackhawk County Since 1877.

This morning at three o'clock at her home occurred the death of Mrs. J. P. Lichty. She had been ill for the past two weeks and while hopes were entertained for her recovery, death came this morning as no surprise. Mrs. Lichty has for a long time been a resident of this county, coming here with her husband in 1877 and living on a farm two and one-half miles south of here until four years ago when she moved to the city.

On May 29, 1825, Mrs. Lichty was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, her maiden name being Sarah Miller. On April 20, 1845, she was married to J. P. Lichty. Eight children were born to them, four of whom are living: Mrs. A. E. Glenny and Mrs.W. H. Miller, both of Orange township; Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton, of Attica, Ohio, and P. J. Lichty, formerly of Orange township, but now living at McPherson, Kansas. The four children have been at the bed side of their mother for the past few days.

Mrs. Lichty was a devoted member of the Progressive Brethern church and a woman loved and respected by all who know her. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Enon church, Rev. J. L. Gillin officiating. Interment will be at Orange cemetery.
