WATERLOO - Betty Mae Seamans, 79, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, of natural causes.

She was born April 11, 1934, in Waterloo, daughter of Lloyd and Lucile Turner Lemley. She married Lowell Seamans on March 25, 1960, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Seamans grew up in rural Waterloo and graduated from Dunkerton High School. She was involved in various business ventures within the community.

Survived by her husband; a son, Jeffrey (Bobbi) of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Crystal (Brian) Boyles and Sheenan Seamans; and a sister, Sandra (David) Burger of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at t. John's Bennington Lutheran Church, with burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society or St. John's Bennington Education Fund.

She enjoyed spending time with her cats, canning pickles, gardening and shopping. She was a member of the Dewar 500 Card Club, and was a lifetime Elklet.
