WATERLOO -- Dorothy Arlene Gardner, 89, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 25, 1924, in La Porte City, daughter of Herman and Rose Rupprich Nass. She married Roland Gardner on Feb. 10, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo.; he died Jan. 25, 2011.

Mrs. Gardner was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by two sons, David (Anne) of Oakland, N.J., and Donald (Susan) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Burch, Matthew (Julie) Gardner and Loren (Carlene) Gardner, all of Waterloo, Jason (Nikki) Gardner of Virginia Beach, Va., Danielle (Joe) Padalino of Bloomingdale, N.J., and Deanna Gardner and Teri-Anne Foster, both of Oakland; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Loren Nass; and a sister, Henrietta McClain.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kearns Funeral Service-Kimball Chapel
