WATERLOO - Retha F. Teare, 73, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Fredricktown, Mo., daughter of Harley and Gertrude Berry Stacey. She married Elmer J. Wood on Oct. 13, 1951, and they later divorced. She married Harry L. Teare on March 6, 1965, in Minnesota.

She was employed with Aramark for 20 years.

Survived by two sons, Michael Wood of Martinsville, Va., and Robert (Rene) Wood of Waterloo; a daughter, Teri (Andy) Wood-TeBockhorst of West Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Barbara L. (John) Celaya of Arizona; a stepson, Toby (Carol) Teare of Waterloo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (Shirley) Stacey of Eldon.

Preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Deborah Jean Teare; a sister, Carol Nobis; a brother, Dennis Stacey; and two stepgrandsons, Jim and Jeff Clay.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
