SHE RESTS IN PEACE.

The Remains of Mrs. Mary A. Markley Solemnly Laid Away in the Presence of Many Friends

Mrs. Mary A. Markley was born in the state of New York, December 14, 1840 and died March 7, 1904. She came to Cedar Falls in the year 1868, and was married September 11, 1870. She was, the mother of three children, one died it infancy. Kitty died in her 25th year leaving one son.

Deceased was loved by all who knew her. She was usually bright and cheerful even when clouds hung thickest; and when physical suffering was worst, her hope grew stronger. Her faith in the eternal things never wavered, and she willingly and gladly went to her Savior to be with Him forever. She made all arrangements for the funeral and requested that she be laid away beside her children Their spirits are now united at the eternal, home never again to separate.

It is sad indeed that circumstances compelled the absence of the husband and son on the funeral occasion. The sympathy and prayers of this city and vicinity are with and for them.

Mary Markley had been an invalid for a long time and while seeking health, she died at Fulton, N. Y, and the remains were brought to this city at the W. H. Hurd home.

The funeral services were held at the Congregational church Saturday at 2:00 o'clock, p. m. Rev. .J. E. Snowden officiating. The relatives and friends assembled at the W. H. Hurd residence and accompanied the remains to the church

Interment occurred in Fairview Cemetery The local D. A. K., W. B. C., G. A. B. and Tuesday club attended the funeral in a body. The floral offerings were silent testimonials of respect of the people here The Waterloo D. A. K., sent a beautiful floral offering. The pall bears were T. J. Burr, J. T. Fairgrave, F. M. Arey Frank Stevens, J. G. Packard and W. H. Hurd.
