CEDAR FALLS - Elden G. Cook, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of West Des Moines, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Western Home Communities Windhaven.

He was born June 9, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, son of Elden S. and Violet Grasser Cook. He married Ruth Wiley on Sept. 15, 1951; she died May 17, 1987. He married Sylvia Carlson on Jan. 6, 1990; she died Nov. 27, 2013.

Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended business college and was employed as accounting supervisor with Equitable Life Assurance, retiring in 1985.

Survived by a daughter, Linda (Bert) Feuchtwanger of Dike; a son, Brian (Jill) of Chanhassen, Minn.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a brother, Stan.

Private family services will occur at a later date. Inurnment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, West Des Moines. Richardson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
