CEDAR FALLS - Ronald W. McCombs, 64, of Dysart, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 26, 1949, in Waterloo, son of Melvin Howard and Jean Reeves McCombs. On Sept. 25, 1971, he married Rosemary Jean Leohr at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, and they later divorced.

Mr. McCombs graduated from Jesup High School in 1968 and then served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a machinist, retiring in 2009.

Survived by a daughter, Brandy (Brad) Schultz of Brandon; a son, Bryan (Dana) of Dysart; nine grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Jean and Leonard Randall of Waterloo; a brother, Kevin (Denise) of Jesup; and four sisters, Connie (Daryl) Waters and Paula (Robert) Yount, both of Waterloo, Marla (Greg) Wilkinson of Indianola and Sandra (Travis) Mesenbrink of Three Forks, Mont.

Preceded in death by his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1509 Rainbow Drive, Waterloo, with burial in Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church. White Funeral Home, Jesup, is in charge of arrangements.
