WATERLOO - William Allen Batchelder, 50, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital.

He was born Feb. 19, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Richard and Gloria Holtaus Batchelder. He married Laurie Mennen on Sept. 1, 1984, in Parkersburg.

Mr. Batchelder was employed as a truck driver for Darling International.

Survived by his wife; a son, Jeremy (Heather) Mennen of Gilbertville; a daughter, Amber (Josh Freeland) Batchelder of Waterloo; his father and stepmother, Richard and Julia Batchelder of Evansdale; his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Howard Bonjour of Sheffield; three grandchildren, Azalea Mennen, Haleigh Batchelder and Jaxon Batchelder; and two brothers, Dave of Iowa City and John of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his grandparents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
