CEDAR FALLS -- Weldon G. “Wes” Jones Sr., 70, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Charles City, son of Bert and Louise Morris Jones. On Aug. 9, 1963, he married Carol in Preston, Minn.

Mr. Jones attended Orange Township High School before entering the U.S. Army. He was employed as a welder/machinist with Roskamp Manufacturing until 2008, and also a delivery driver with Domino’s Pizza.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Robin Lovell of Waterloo; a son, Weldon Jr. of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Krystal and Corry Monroe, Samantha Perez, Montana and Lacy Efert, and Dana Allen; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Derald (Leona) Hoel of Nora Springs; and a sister, Bernita (Dean) Pettit of Fairfield.

Preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Justin Monroe; three brothers, Eddie, Wayne and Vernon; and a sister, Mildred Smith.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery, Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
