Lucille C. Walther, 86, of Denver, died Wednesday, May 4, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of a heart attack.

She was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Tripoli, daughter of Ernest and Lena Barbknecht Schumacher. She married Fred Walther Feb. 12, 1939, at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli. He died Dec. 21, 1992.

Mrs. Walther was employed by H&R Block for several years.

Survivors include two sons, Robert of Tucson, Ariz., and Ron (Linda) of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Phyllis Jacobsen and Marlys (Dane) Bruce, both of Waterloo, and Lois (Ronnie) Boysen of Poolville, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; eight stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Roger, and two brothers, LaVerne and Orville Schumacher.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Garden View Chapel, Waterloo, and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
