Joan Orene Terrones, 59, of Ames, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, of cancer.

She was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Huxley, daughter of Jerome and Orella Hill. She married A.J. "Toche" Terrones on Feb. 8, 1958, in Ames. He died in 1999.

Mrs. Terrones was a sales associate for Ruby's Family Fashions, Elmhurst, Ill.

Survived by two sons, James of Owatonna, Minn., and Jason of Waterloo; two daughters, Catherine Wasmund of Apple Valley, Minn., and Constance Remme of Chatfield, Minn.; nine grandchildren, her mother of Ames; a brother, Wesley Hill of Chico, Calif.; and three sisters, Izetta Bennett of Gilbert, MarJean Sutter of Pleasantville, and Mayola Smith of Phoenix.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gilbert Lutheran Church, Gilbert, with inurnment in Ames City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Neptune Cremation Society of Iowa, Des Moines, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Homeward Hospice, Ames.
