LEFT FOR VIET NOV. 10, KILLED

A Marshalltown man who left for Vietnam Nov. 10 was killed in action there Tuesday, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde M. Irons, learned Friday.

He was Dennis Neil Williams, 20. He joined the navy in June, 1954, transferred to the marines two months ago, volunteered for overseas duty and was sent to Vietnam as a hospital corpsman third class.

Mr. and Mrs. Irons said they learned he was killed when his patrol encountered enemy rifle fire near Da Nang.

Born in Waterloo, Williams attended schools in Spirit Lake and Gilman.

Other survivors include four brothers and three sisters, all of Marshalltown.
