CEDAR FALLS - Norma Joan Mumm, 69, of 1302 Minnehaha Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of cancer.

She was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Waterloo, daughter of Lewis and Maude Gardner Rose. She married Kenneth A. Mumm on April 5, 1947, in Kirksville, Mo.

Mrs. Mumm and her husband owned and operated the H&S Lumber Co., Cedar Falls, for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by her husband; a son, Stephen of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Rebecca Huisman and Vicki Crew, both Cedar Falls, and Deborah Lynott of Mount Vernon; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard "Jim" Rose of Waterloo; and two sisters, Gwen Scoles of Evansdale and Donna Watters of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Bernard and Eugene Rose; and two sisters, Agnes Watters and Lois McNamara.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
