WATERLOO-- Edmund Ludwig Lobeck, 90, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Mercy Hospital-South, Charlotte, N.C., of pneumonia.

He was born Jan. 11, 1910, in Readlyn, son of Henry and Wilhelmina Stumme Lobeck. He married Lydia C. Sell on Jan. 24, 1932, in Readlyn. She died July 11, 1986.

He owned and operated Lobeck Grocery.

Survived by a daughter, Lois Ann Vaughan of Charlotte; two grandsons; a brother, Henry of Waterloo; and four sisters, Emma, Valeska, Marlys and Eldora.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Wilbur and Hugo.

Services: were 11:30 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Readlyn. Parrott & Wood Family Funeral Care was in charge of arrangements.
