Gertrude P. Lentzkow, 85, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born June 10, 1924 in Readlyn; the daughter of William and Emma Huebner Tiedt. She married Leonard A. Lentzkow on September 5, 1944 in Klinger; he preceded her in death on February 19, 2004.

She worked at Rath Packing Company for 33 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survived by one daughter, Jenny Lentzkow of Waterloo; a special friend of the family, Diane Weiland of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Potter of Cedar Falls, Jeff (Emily) Lentzkow of Cedar Falls; three great grandchildren, Jacob and Caitlyn Lentzkow and Ella Potter all of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Dennis Lentzkow; four brothers and five sisters.

Services: will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
