CEDAR FALLS - E. Ernestine Refshauge, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000 at Windsor Nursing & Rehab of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 29, 1908, in Independence, Ind., daughter of Michael and Mary Meisenhelder Vester. She married Elmer L. Refshauge on Oct. 18, 1936, in Attica, Ind. He died Jan, 23, 2000.

Mrs. Refshauge received a bachelor of arts degree in 1932 from Purdue University in Indiana, and she and her husband farmed north of Cedar Falls until retiring in 1977.

Survived by a son, Charles J. of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a daughter, Mary E. Maas of Cedar Falls; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Russell Vester.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
