WATERLOO — Herbert L. Schwarz, 71, of Parkersburg, formerly of Waterloo died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Iowa, son of William and Minnie Tyler Schwarz. He married Paula Stockfield on May 17,1961, in Harmony, Minn. She died Nov. 21, 1995.

Mr. Schwarz was employed as an auto mechanic at Daisy Dairy, Cedar Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survived by a son, Gary of Stratford, Wis.; two daughters, Giuliette Storjohann of Reinbeck and Delta Vankley of Hutchinson, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and four brothers, Don of Evansdale, Walt of Chandler, Okla., Bill of Crane, Mo., and Leonard of Moorehaven, Fla.

Preceded in death by a sister, Edith Sonsken.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Wesleyan Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in the Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Grundy County Hospice.
