Kathleen "Kathy" M. Clemen, 58, of Oelwein, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, following a sudden illness.

She was born Oct. 6, 1951, in Waterloo, daughter of Raymond and Lillian Horna Knipp. She married James "Jim" H. Clemen July 12, 1975, at St. Edward's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Clemen graduated from Columbus High School, Waterloo, in 1969, and from Hawkeye Institute of Technology, Waterloo, in 1971, as a licensed practical nurse. She was currently working at Grandview Healthcare Center, Oelwein.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Cindy Clemen of Cedar Falls and Sharyn Clemen of Waterloo; a son, Jason (Corinna) of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Maiya Clemen; two sisters, Helen (Joe) Hellman of Washburn and Mary (Jerry) Sisemore of Roseburg, Ore.; three brothers, James (Conchita) and David (Marcia) Knipp, both of Waterloo, and Gerard Knipp of Dunkerton; two brothers-in-law, Kevin (Carol) Clemen of Amana and Wayne Clemen of Masonville; two sisters-in-law, Kathy (Steve) Dolan of Manchester and Laura (Dan) Kaiser of Masonville; her father and mother-in-law, Bob and Helen Clemen of Masonville; four godchildren, Don Hellman, Kesha Bean, Tamara Dolan and Lynn Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Joe Hellman.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, both in Oelwein. Public visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, with a 4 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture service.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
