The funeral of Mrs. Albert Kohl was held this forenoon at 10:30 from the First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J. A. Earl. There was a large attendance of relatives from out of town and of friends from this city. The following are additional particulars of the life of deceased:

Mrs. Ida Kohl, whose maiden name was Methfessel, was born in Maryland June 24th, 1866. On August 24th, 1887, she was married to Albert W. Kohl in Jones County, Iowa. Four years ago last February they came to Waterloo.

About two years ago Mrs. Kohl was taken ill and for a time she was in a serious condition. She regained her health and seemed to be as well as ever she was. It was only a few weeks ago that she was again stricken. in hopes of saving her life and bringing back the health which she so much prized, she was willing to undergo an operation. She face the ordeal bravely and cheerfully and it is the testimony of physicians and nurses of the hospital at Iowa City that they never had a more cheerful and hopeful patient. Her case, however, was hopeless almost from the first and she died Thursday morning, Sept. 17th, ten days after the operation.

Mrs. Kohl was a Christian woman, a good; neighbor, a staunch, friend, a faithful wife and a self-sacrificing mother. While not a member of the First Baptist Church she was a faithful attendant, interested in all the work of the church and Sunday school and helping so far as she was able.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death her husband, Albert Kohl, two sons, Fred and Ervin, and a daughter, Cletis. Her father and mother also survive her. Rev. Fred Methfessel and wife, also two brothers and one sister, namely, Rev. N. S. Methfessel of Ontario, Canada; W. F. Methfessel and Mrs. Lydia Weiner of Shell Rock.
