Mitchell “Mitch” Lane Johnson, 49, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, from injuries sustained after being struck by a falling tree while cutting wood.

He was born July 5, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Harlan “Sam” and Janice Kay Mennen Johnson. On July 7, 1984, he married Debra Ranae Schipper at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Aplington.

Mr. Johnson graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1981. He worked for Johnson Plumbing until he became an employee of Yoder Feed as a truck driver for eight years. In 1998 he bought into Johnson Plumbing. He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church and was a member of the Parkersburg Fire Department for 29 years.

Survived by his wife; a son, Tyler Mitchell (Kristy) of Parkersburg; two daughters, Trista Ranae (Tyler) Nevenhoven and Tesha Marie Kay (Zach Bertram), both of Aplington; his mother of Parkersburg; a sister, Janie (Verlyn) Schipper of Aplington; and a brother, Wes (Bradi) of Parkersburg.

Preceded in death by his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Aplington, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday, all at the church. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is in charge of arrangements
