WATERLOO—John W. Shock, 78, of 419 Hartman Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, at Sartori Memorial Hospilal, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

He was born April 28, 1917, in Lourdes, son of William and Beatrice Green Shock. He married Ruby Becker on Jan. 9,1947, in Waterloo.

Mr. Shock was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been employed with Rath Packing Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1979.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Gene of Waterloo and Larry of Buckingham; three grandchildren and a greatgrandchild; two brothers, Charles and Raymond, both of Waterloo; and two sisters, Alice Urban of Waterloo and Anna O'Brien of Elma.

Preceded in death by two brothers. Robert and William.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS. Friends may call from 1:30 to 8 p.m. today at O'Keefc & Towne-Grarup & Waychoff Funeral Home, and an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
