CEDAR FALLS — Joseph H. Strickland, 91, of 2724 Bicentennial Drive, died Monday, Dec. 1, 1998, at his daughter's home in Evansdale of cancer.

He was born Aug. 18, 1907, in Champaign County, Ohio, son of William and Nellie Snapp Strickland. He married Hazel L. Larson on Oct. 26, 1929, in International Falls, Minn. She died April 5, 1993.

Mr. Strickland and his wife were caretakers for the Rotary Reserve for 38 years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by two sons, David of Nevada and Robert of Newport, Minn.; two daughters, Lois Christians of Evansdale and Juel Clark of Waterloo; foster children, Hein and Renae Nguyen; 13 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Knisley of Springfield, Ohio.

Preceded in death by two brothers, David and Albert; two sisters, Cora Grove and Dessie Rutherford; a daughter, Harriet Deuth; and two grandchildren.

Services were 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Open Bible, Waterloo, with burial in Cedar Valley Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Keams, Huisrnan-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, was in charge of arrangements.
