WATERLOO - Bernice C. Gigl, 92, of Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died at Huntington Valley Nursing Center, Huntington Beach, of natural causes.

She was born March 19, 1903, in Waterloo, daughter of Adolph and Came Lodgston Wittick. She married Vernon R. Gigl on Oct. 9, 1931, in Galena, He died on Dec. 30, 1979.

Mrs. Gigl was employed as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone Co. in Waterloo for 35 years.

Survived by a brother, John Wittick of Westminster, Calif.; and a sister, Mildred E. Bentley of Huntington Beach.

Preceded in death by a sister, Frieda Zack; and a brother, Maurice Wittack.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
