WATERLOO — Caroll R. Conklin, 86, of Marion, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 1995, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from complications of a stroke and pneumonia.

He was born Aug. 29, 1909, in Waterloo, son of David and Lucy Rizer Conklin. He married Helen Burnell on Jan. 10, 1932, in Waterloo.

Mr. Conklin was an engineer at Deere & Co. from 1937 to 1973.

Survived by his wife; a son, David of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Deborah Hileman of St. Louis; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Stocks of Rockford, Ill.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m today at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and from 9:30 a.m. until services Monday at the church.
